Good-Bye 2017!

Hai guysss,

I’m more than sure I am not the only one who felt this year fly right past us. It was a bittersweet one with lots of ups and downs but I learned so much, I grew, and I realized many things. I started my blog, met so many amazing new people, got to travel to so many wonderful destinations including my first international trip and I got a new job.

Amongst the many things I realized this year I realized I was holding myself back. This year was all about letting the seeds start to sprout and identifying the ways I was stomping on my garden before giving it a chance to grow. In 2018 I am going to thrive in my garden. I am so excited for this new year and I feel exciting things happening and coming along. I hope you all have an amazing holiday today and stay safe, unfortunately I’ll be at work but honestly I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunities God placed in my way this past year. A big THANK YOU to those of you who have shared this journey with me so far and took the time to read my posts and give me feedback. I wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR and God bless you and your families. newyeardrinksProcessed with VSCO with l4 presetProcessed with VSCO with 4 presetProcessed with VSCO with 4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with j3 preset35CEE01B-F9C8-4075-9FDD-EF22FEB9FB8BProcessed with VSCO with j3 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with j3 presetProcessed with VSCO with j3 presetProcessed with VSCO with 4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with m6 presetIMG_1753

My Travel Essentials

Hey guys! So for the past couple of months of traveling I’ve gathered up all my must have travel essentials. These are items I have found to be the most necessary for my self but I thought I’d share them with you in hopes some of you will find this beneficial when traveling. None of these items were gifted to me nor is this post in any way sponsored. I bought all these items with my own money and I am including them in this post for the sole purpose of helping you guys.Line-dividerMy very first travel essential is of course a handy-dandy backpack. I like to go for small-medium size backpacks because since I am always carrying a lot of bags and suitcases I like the one on my back to be lightweight. I try to go for backpacks with a lot of pockets because I bring a lot of stuff with me on flights such as hand sanitizer and lotion, moisturizer, headphones and phone charger, a book+notebook, my wallet, glasses and of course can’t forget the snackssss. This one is from Urban Outfitters and its called the Elena mini backpack however it is sold out. Urban outfitters has my favorite backpacks so hop on their website and see if you can find one you like here.

IMG_3367My second item is a portable phone charger. With all the plane hopping, flight connections and delays it’s important to me for my phone to always be charged which is why I carry a portable charger with me at all times. Its not only beneficial for flights and stuff but when you’re out exploring a new city its good to have a back up in case your phone dies. You have to charge the case for a maximum of 1-4 hours and it gives your phone 1 full charge. I am looking into getting one that will last longer than this and give me more than 1 full charge however for the price I am not complaining. I got it from Amazon and you can find it here. I also have some adapter plugs. These are VERY important to me as I am sure they would be to anyone. A lot of hotels offer them and you can often find them in stores wherever you are traveling to but its more convenient to have them on me specially since I travel with my hair appliances. A warning to you ladies, this is not a voltage converter. You can find voltage converters but research the voltage limits of wherever it is that you are traveling to so you know what to purchase. For different locations there are different types of adapters. For example I went to Bali, Indonesia and Singapore last October so I got Type C which is USA to most of Europe and Type G which is USA to UK and Hong Kong. You can find all types of plug adapters from all around the world here. The ones I got are from Amazon and come in packs of three. Find them here.

IMG_3356Next up is MAKEUP. Traveling with makeup is SUCH a hassle. I want to take everything with me and of course thats impossible so I’ve found it to be really helpful to hold on to and save makeup samples I receive specifically for traveling. Instead of having to take full size products with me I take these instead saving a lot of space in my bag for other items. Not to mention theres different liquid/container limits all over the world so I like to keep it on the safe side. IMG_3337Another makeup related item I like to take with me when traveling is cleaning brush wipes. These might not be necessary to everyone but to me they’re important. I wash my brushes every 1-2 weeks so when I am traveling for long periods of time these are helpful to clean my brushes. I got these at TJ Maxx but you can find any on Amazon or Sephora.IMG_3341I absolutely love any travel packing item that makes the packing process easier. The first one on my list is a cosmetic travel kit organizer. Let me tell you guys, since I got this my life has become so much easier when traveling. It fits ALL my makeup and its not too big which doesn’t take up a lot of space. I don’t pack this makeup bag with the suitcase I am checking in out if fear that something will be broken since a lot of items are fragile so what I usually do is I take this with me in my second carry-on bag along with one other item, a jewelry roll bag. As you can see it has a lot of compartments so it fits every piece of jewelry I want to take with me. They are both from Amazon and pretty inexpensive. You can find them here and here.

IMG_3309Next up is some sandals. My favorite pair of shoes to pack are always comfortable ones I know I can spend an entire day in. Then theres this Sea Salt hairspray from Drybar which is not a product I always take with me, only when I know I’ll need to reach for it. If I am traveling somewhere tropical and where I know I won’t have time to do my hair often then this comes with me. Its perfect for a beachy-wave effortless look. Theres other hair products you can also use to reach the same hair style but this is just the one I like at the moment.IMG_3382 2Last but certainly not least is my portable travel steamer that can be used worldwide with a converter. It can be used for ironing and for steaming the face. This product is life changing. One of my big pet peeves is wrinkly clothes and that is bound to happen when traveling so this eliminates that concern. Its not too big and it comes with a pouch for easy storing. I got it from Amazon and you can find it hereIMG_3379Anddddd that is all for my travel essentials ladies and gents. I’m definitely going to be updating this the more I travel but for now I’ll leave it here. I really hope you guys enjoyed and maybe found some items that will somewhat be beneficial to you while traveling. Thanks for stopping by, hasta luego!!!

Bali, Indonesia + Singapore

Whats up guys? I hope everyones been having an amazing week. Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I just can’t believe how fast this year has been going. I recently traveled to Singapore and Bali and the time flew right past me. I had the most amazing time of my life. It was my first international trip and it couldn’t have gone any better. I created a poll a couple days ago to see what kind of travel post you guys would prefer and most of you voted for a detailed blog post with my experiences including tips and recommendations versus a picture diary. I’m gonna do my best to condense all the information, pictures and my experiences as much as possible other wise this post would last a lifetime. So here we go, I hope you all enjoy!e5dd1116173bbe2cccbe72ec53e0609d-dbc3b8hWe took a flight from Orlando to San Francisco and spent a night there, then took a sixteen-hour hour flight to Singapore the next morning. By we I mean my boyfriend Danny Flywithdannyy, and our friends Kelson, aka Kelsswa and Tony, aka Tony Savage. It was literally the best group of individuals we could have traveled with. I want to take a moment to thank Kelson, without you none of this would have been possible (babe you too don’t get jelly, best birthday present ever!!!) and without you this trip wouldn’t have been as special as it was…. Back to the flight, I highly suggest you bring snacks, a sleeping mask, hand sanitizer, a neck pillow, some pain killers and some moisturizer if you  dislike the feeling of dry skin as I do, thank me later! We arrived at night, checked into our hotel, got ready and headed down the street to a nice little plaza to grab something to eat. We stayed at the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. The picture below was our hotel room view. I have a lot to tell you about our experience in Singapore but I will leave that for the end since thats where we ended our trip. We only spent one night in Singapore before taking a flight the next morning to Bali, Indonesia and thats where the real adventure took place.IMG_8488Processed with VSCO with q5 presetBali was a dream come true. Being one of my dream destinations it was so surreal being there. I couldn’t believe it. Its nothing I’d ever experienced before. Indonesia is different in so many ways. From the streets, to the people, to the food to the culture and lifestyle. I fell in love with Bali and theres yet so much more I want to see and experience. All I have to say is Bali, you are beautiful beyond words and I am definitely not done with you. I WILL BE BACK! (dramatic much? lol). I’m only gonna discuss my favorite places that we visited to avoid making this post any longer.

We stayed at a private villa in Seminyak that we booked trough Airbnb. Contact me trough Instagram if you’d like for me to direct you to this exact villa. The owners we’re really nice and we didn’t encounter any issues while staying here.Processed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with se3 presetProcessed with VSCO with av4 presetProcessed with VSCO with kg2 preset

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with 10 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with fp8 presetIMG_8506Before I begin introducing you to the places we visited I’m gonna let you guys know that if budget and spending is one of your biggest concerns then anywhere in Indonesia is the travel destination for you. It is insanely affordable. Just make sure you learn the currency conversion or download an app for it. Locals will try to scam you but take your time trying to figure out the price difference. For transportation I highly recommend getting in contact with a local driver (Contact me for the best local driver in Ubud). You can often hire them and pay them to drive you for an entire day. Taxis are okay but they will try to scam you and a lot of times it was a hassle finding one. As far as Uber goes I really don’t recommend it. They take forever to pick you up and a lot of them only wanted to take cash which was really sketchy however if Uber is your only option go for it. Ladies, for attire pack your most comfortable pieces. Lots of dresses, shorts and flowy skirts/pants. If you are familiar to Florida weather then you know what I’m talking about considering this is what our wardrobes consist of for the most part but take my advice. Bali is way hotter than Florida, more humid and theres rarely any wind.Processed with VSCO with s3 presetOne of the first places we checked out that I had been dying to visit months before arriving to Bali was KYND Community. It’s a plant based cafe whose atmosphere is right up my alley. They are mainly known for their smoothie bowls and its one of the best I’ve ever had, trust me I’m not exageratting. I had three plates, a drink and Danny had two plates and a drink as well all for about thirty-something dollars. Where in the U. S. can you eat such great quality food for that price? Let me know because I don’t know of any lol. Not to mention how cute and picture worthy it is. 10/10 from me and I highly recommend it if you’re ever around that area. Processed with VSCO with 4 presetWe also visited the Potato Head Beach Club in Kuta. Laid back spaces suitable for drinking, grabbing some bites and tanning by the beach. Entrance is free however you have to pay if you’d like to rent out your own personal cabana. Processed with VSCO with s3 presetProcessed with VSCO with s3 presetProcessed with VSCO with s3 presetProcessed with VSCO with kp3 presetProcessed with VSCO with fr4 presetIMG_8510If you’re an animal lover like me you have to visit the Sacred Monkey Forest. One of my favorite destinations. Entrance is not free and you have to pay to buy fruits and bananas so the monkeys can climb on you. They’re literally everywhere just jumping on visitors and monkeying around (hehe ;)) They highly recommend you don’t wear anything loose such as hats, purses, or any jewelry because the monkeys will snatch it from you and you can say goodbye to it forever. I was wearing these flowy pants and I guess they thought I was hiding something in them because they would jump on my foot and look under my pants. It was the funniest thing ever. I could have stayed here for hourssss.Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with 7 presetProcessed with VSCO with 4 presetProcessed with VSCO with fp4 presetProcessed with VSCO with kp8 presetProcessed with VSCO with kg2 presetProcessed with VSCO with fr4 presetimg_8789.jpgYou can’t go to Bali and not go to the beach. By far few of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. We visited a few such as Uluwatu, Padang Padang and Suluban. When I return my goal is to spend almost every day exploring beaches and waterfalls, which we didn’t get a chance to do with so much in our plate.Processed with VSCO with fr4 presetProcessed with VSCO with fr4 presetProcessed with VSCO with kg2 presetIMG_8135Another cafe spot worth the visit is Coffee Cartel. It’s another plant based cafe that will blow your mind with its tasteful dishes. We had the chance to chat with the owner who’s a really sweet guy from Sydney, Australia. This spot is so chic and aesthetically pleasing I didn’t want to leave. Definitely check this sweet spot out if you’re ever in Seminyak.Processed with VSCO with fp2 presetProcessed with VSCO with ke1 presetProcessed with VSCO with 4 presetProcessed with VSCO with fp8 presetProcessed with VSCO with fp2 presetProcessed with VSCO with 4 presetProcessed with VSCO with fr4 presetProcessed with VSCO with fp2 presetAfter a few days in Seminyak we made our way to Ubud. The drive was supposed to be about two hours however with the crazy driving and traffic in Seminyak it became five hours long. Thankfully our villa in Ubud sent the sweetest driver we had in Bali to pick us up. His name was Jana. Jana is a local from Ubud who dedicates to driving tourists and owns a shop with his wife near Bukit Campuhan. We also hired him to drive us around Ubud for two days. He gave us recommendations, took us to the best spots around the city and partook in some Indonesian traditions with us. Jana became our friend. I miss him and when I go back to Bali I will be contacting him again. Please, if you’re ever in Ubud ask me for his contact information. You’ll make me the happiest person!IMG_8126Processed with VSCO with kg2 presetOur villa in Ubud was beyond words. It was in the most peaceful neighborhood, overlooking rice fields. The only downside I have to say is it wasn’t always peaceful. The villas owner has a person assigned to cook you breakfast and clean up after you. Though that might sound nice to some, to those looking to get away from people and have some privacy its not the best scenario. We asked her in the nicest way possible not to come the next day, explaining to her we didn’t need our rooms cleaned or any breakfast since we had plans to eat out. She still came by with her assistant the following morning, hung out in the living room area waiting for us to leave. It was really uncomfortable and very unprofessional in my opinion. Therefor I’m not exactly sure I would recommend this villa to someone looking for privacy based on my experience. However if you don’t mind any of what I just described feel free to ask me for this villa’s information.  Processed with VSCO with a6 presetIf you love elephants then you probably feel the same way I do about elephant parks. I’ve never liked the idea of them nor supported them. However I researched this one and apparently these elephants were rescued from Sumatra, where their natural habitat is being destroyed by deforestation and the animals are being persecuted and hunted due to their damage to the palm oil trade. This park  is called The Elephant park in Taro and it meets international standards of animal care and was awarded the “Best Environmentally Friendly Tourist Attraction” in Bali. Though I still disagree with elephant riding and would never partake in it, it was a remarkable experience getting to feed and bond with the elephants.Processed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with j3 presetI got to check of a few things from my bucket list on this trip. Visiting the Tegalang Rice Terrace was among them. You have to pay a small fee to access the fields and be able to walk trough them but its totally worth it. It was definitely a hike. You start at the bottom and make it to the top and you have to make donations as you go otherwise you have to turn back around. Processed with VSCO with 4 presetProcessed with VSCO with 4 presetProcessed with VSCO with l1 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetIf visiting temples is among your plans for Indonesia make sure you do some research and find which ones you’d like to visit. I made the mistake of not doing so and when we got there I didn’t know which ones I wanted to see. Theres so many. Literally every corner or street you pass by theres a temple. Some of the Temples have rules for females. So keep that in mind when getting ready before visiting the temples.Processed with VSCO with av4 presetThis was Bukit Campuhan in Ubud. It’s a twelve kilometer trail amid lush green woods, valleys and rivers.Processed with VSCO with 4 presetAmong Danny’s list of places he wanted to see was the Pura Tirta Empul. Tirta Empul is a  holy spring water temple. The temple has a spring that gives out fresh water regularly. The water is believed to have magical powers and local Balinese consider it to be holy and come here to purify themselves under the water spouts. Our friend and driver Jana guided us trough the whole tradition. Though the water was freezing and I was reluctant to go in initially it was definitely worth it. I would do it all over again.Processed with VSCO with 4 presetProcessed with VSCO with 4 presetProcessed with VSCO with av4 presetProcessed with VSCO with 4 presetProcessed with VSCO with j3 presetProcessed with VSCO with 4 presetProcessed with VSCO with kg2 presetAfter a few days in Bali we took a flight back to Singapore and stayed there a couple more days. Let me tell you guys, Singapore is the complete opposite of Indonesia. It is tremendously expensive. From hotels, to food to attractions. As spectacular as it was I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying in Singapore for more than two to three days unless you have the money to splurge. We stayed at the Marina Bay Sands hotel. That was totally worth it. It was on Danny’s bucket list spending some time at the infinity pool overlooking the skylines and it was truly a magical experience. The hotel is beautiful and super high end. It has a lot of restaurants, a mall and some attractions. We had such a hard time finding good food anywhere in Singapore. Never imagined having this issue EVER. Aside from the food being expensive almost everywhere, everything we tried wasn’t that great sometimes not even good at all. Now I know everyone has different a taste but that was just my experience. Super dissapointing.Processed with VSCO with 10 presetProcessed with VSCO with kp8 presetProcessed with VSCO with 4 presetimg_8019.jpgIMG_8001Processed with VSCO with q4 presetMy favorite attraction in Singapore was of course the Gardens by the Bay. This was on my bucket list for a very long time. I have always been obsessed with trees, plants, and flowers so this place was a dream come true. The garden has these beautiful super trees that light up at night. It has a forest with its own indoor waterfall, a flower Dome and sky conservatories. Outdoor garden admission is free but everything else has a small price to it. Processed with VSCO with 10 presetProcessed with VSCO with 4 presetProcessed with VSCO with kg2 presetProcessed with VSCO with j3 presetProcessed with VSCO with j3 presetProcessed with VSCO with kg2 presetProcessed with VSCO with j3 presetProcessed with VSCO with j3 presetProcessed with VSCO with s2 presetProcessed with VSCO with j3 presetOne of the last places we visited in Singapore was the Art Science Museum. It is located right next to the Marina Bay Sands. I was really looking forward to checking this place out but I was a bit disappointed. Mainly because there wasn’t many exhibitions making the visit really short. We were’t even there for an hour. All the exhibitions were mind blowing, I just wish there was more of them. Despite my disappointment I really do recommend this museum because its something that you’veprobably never seen before. Processed with VSCO with j3 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetThe very last thing we did was the Merlion Park. Its across from the museum and the Marina Bay. I got a little frustrated in this location because it gets incredibly crowded. People don’t even give you a chance to get a nice picture in front of the lion. They take forever to finish taking their own photographs and will jump in front of your picture with no empathy. I would highly suggest coming here early in the morning so you can avoid this. Processed with VSCO with 10 presetProcessed with VSCO with ke1 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with j3 presetHere are the Gardens by the Bay at night. If you stay at the Marina Bay Sands theres a bridge that has easy access to the gardens. They have a few light shows so make sure you do some research for the times so you don’t miss it. Processed with VSCO with kg2 presetProcessed with VSCO with j3 presetProcessed with VSCO with j3 presetProcessed with VSCO with kg2 presetProcessed with VSCO with kg2 presetI forgot to mention earlier but research all of Singapores rules and laws before arriving. They are very strict in some aspects. You cannot litter or throw any type of trash on the ground (which I believe should be a law everywhere), you can’t chew gum, can’t show affection in public, and many more. Another tip, ladies make sure you bring plug adapters and make sure the voltage in your hair appliances is within the voltage limit of these locations. Last thing you want to do is fry your straightener or even worse your hair while on vacation. If I were to choose which place I would rather travel to it would be anywhere in Bali a million times.  Singapore is a beautiful city, but I was dissapointed various time making my visit not the best experience. When I travel  I try to go in with an open mind and willingness to try and do anything but I don’t think I would ever go back. Bali is another story. Bali is a place I would visit even once a year. Thats how much I loved it. I’m not going to explain in detail what I love about it because its everything, the culture, the people, the food, the landscapes. You just have to experience it for yourself to understand what I mean.

I really hope you guys enjoyed this post or found it beneficial in some way. Please contact me if you ever want any more tips or recommendations about any of these places. Thank you so much for reading this all the way if you did. Hope you have an amazing weekend and Thanksgiving holiday! Hasta la proxima!

O Fall weather! wherefore art thou?

Good dawning to thee, friend.

I am patiently waiting for Fall weather to arrive so I can finally layer up my outfits and show you all some transitional looks. This casual look was the closest I could get to layering up for the day. It was so hot I had to put my hair up for a few shots even though I really didn’t want to. I won’t quit complaining about Florida weather, so don’t ever tell me to do so lol. I’ve been living here for eleven years and I still haven’t gotten over how incredibly hot it is all year round. I’m from Puerto Rico so I’ve always dealt with it but I am almost positive I will never get used to it. Here in Florida we only get occasional fall/winter like days to enjoy. Florida weather likes to play games with us. It’ll be nice and chilly for a few days and then boom, it feels like Fall or Winter never even came. Oh and if you’re still wearing a sweater by 2-4 PM chances are you’ll probably suffer from a heat stroke. So Florida, give us some Fall weather pleaseeee!? I will warm up to you a bit more.

Anyways, rant over, enough about the weather. A lot has been going on these past few months that have prevented me from blogging so I’ll chat a little about life for those who are interested. I know I mentioned this before but really though, a lot has happened and I promise I’m going to be working as hard as I can to get things going. I already explained in my last post that things preventing me from blogging and shooting looks had to do with the trip I took to San Diego, school starting, getting strep throat (which I did not talk about) and Irma striking Florida. To make matters worse, as I was preparing to get things going yet again I got sick with Strep Throat for a second time. Then hurricane Maria made its way to my homeland Puerto Rico. I’m not gonna go into detail about that, simply because just talking about it any more breaks my heart. Things have been so hectic back at home, in my life and the entire world. We need to help and love each other no matter the race, color, or gender. We are all human and if we don’t stick together we are just gonna continue going downhill. Pray for the world, pray for your people and most importantly have a good heart and treat others kindly. I hope you and your loved ones are all doing well. Enjoy this look,

Bless Thee.

And so the Adventure Begins

Hi lovelies! Welcome to my blog and my very first post. I am beyond excited to embark on this journey that I’ve been anticipating for so long now. Many things were holding me back from getting started but NO MORE! I am here now and that is all that matters right? I will be blogging about all things fashion, style, beauty and I also plan to incorporate my foodie favorites and new finds. I hope you all take on this adventure with me. Thrilled to see where it takes me. Keep on scrolling to see my first look and thanks for stopping by!

IMG_3271For my very first look I went for a chic yet comfortable look. If you live in Florida like I do you probably know that is the best combination for a day out in 90° weather. Spring just arrived and it feels like Summer decided to take over instead lol. Skirts and dresses have been my go to these past couple of months. Easy to style with other staple pieces yet very comfortable for any occasion. In this look I wore a graphic muscle tee with a faux leather zip-front skirt and some simple red high heel sandals. I originally decided to go with black heels but then later realized adding a pop of color would make the entire look stand out. The heels did indeed elevate the look as I had hoped and complemented the red details in the shirt and the best part? They are soooo comfortable that they became my new favorite shoes. I am a true shoe enthusiast and lately its so rare to find comfortable heels that I can wear for an entire day. These definitely hit the ballpark.

I will always end my posts with a quote to enlighten or inspire you. Quotes are my thing. I live by them. I feel its important to share this with you as I relate to them or find that they help me in some way.

I hope you enjoyed my very first post! Until next time.wCra3
